I do not have a reinstallation dvd for windows but am getting one mailed. Either way, the problem was not solved through this method I have also tried to do system restores and Dell factory image restore, but the dell factory image does not exist, and most of the system restores i have tried have errors in them. To clarify, i do not have access to my start bar. i have tried running the cscripts located on, it had no effect. I tried reentering my product key but was greeted by another window that told me that that key was invalid, and gave me a error. I have tried using the command prompt as admin to try to run slui 4 to try to do it by phone, but every time i tried it would only refocus on the existing dialog. From the information i have gathered from this forum already, i believe it is the slui 3 dialog, it has three options, 1) run with reduced functionality, enter a different product key, and contact Dell. On monday i restarted only to find that the next time i logged in, my product key was supposably invalid. I bought my computer back in august and it came with an OEM version of windows vista home premium and was both activated and validated.
I have not installed any hardware or changed any of the drivers Hello, i bought an inspiron 1520 from Dell, i am aware that i should have gone to them for support, and i have, they are of no help.
